I think it all boils down to law enforcement. If QuikTrip believed it would penalized for selling lottery tickets to minors, it would ensure clerks complied with the law. If QuikTrip did not believe it would be penalized for selling tobacco to minors, compliance would go down.

Another one that irritates me is ZIP Code. People do not realize that ZIP is an acronym and should be all caps. Zone Improvement Plan Code...ZIP Code. I love that you find little things like that annoying enough to point out also. CHEERS!

I heard back... then replied to the email and never saw a response back. Will they ever upgrade that smoothie for me? In the meantime, I have avoided Smoothie Kings and just made my own... and driven a few hours out of my way to get a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe!

Our pets have a habit of leaving a paw sized space in our hearts don't they? They just walk right in and take over, giving us so much love unconditionally and asking for nothing in return. I've just spent half an hour in the sun stroking our bunny; a great reminder that life is about meaningful moments and spending quality time with those we love.

Having insane athletic talent like Jordan is also really useful. I suspect he applied those lessons to baseball and that worked out less well.

I was a little Chicago girl during the rule of MJ. I wasn't big on sports, but I remember the 3-peat (and 6-peat!). MJ was always a positive role model - the poster child of hard work, loyalty and appreciating what you have. We still celebrate Jordan around here, not just on his milestone birthdays :)

IRL stemmed from fictional worlds on the internet (MMORPGS, for example), or even role-players. Where who you are in the game isn't necessarily who you are "in real life." I play WoW. If we're in game and somebody asks me, "What do you do?" I say, "I'm a miner and skinner," because "you" in game is referring to your in-game character. By asking, "What do you do IRL?" I know they are asking about my life outside of game, so I respond, "Web Developer."

It is still a very relevant term, imho, but one that can easily be abused and over-used, and only applies to certain situations.

Great ideas, Dwayne. My favorite one is better badges. They should recognize important occasions such as the anniversary of the founding of the USMC. Brilliant.

I wish more retailers would offer rewards for their mayors. I am regularly astounded at how many establishments ignore their most loyal customers.I think Foursquare is trying to combat this by revealing our full names in the app, but that will make many users uncomfortable.What do you think of Foursquare revealing full names of its users, Dwayne?
